Annual Impact Report
January 2017
Two years ago, we launched a new chapter in the history of Messiah United Methodist Church. In many ways, our history has been defined by building projects as a result of continued growth in our community. But two years ago, we began praying for the Holy Spirit to guide us in launching a new life cycle defined not by building facilities but by building disciples and reaching new people. As we conclude 2017, we have implemented most of the strategies that would position us for this life cycle, and now look forward to what God can do through us in the years ahead.
In 2017, we added live streaming during both worship opportunities which has extended our reach and kept our congregation connected. We have more than 50% of our average worship attendance participating in a faith group for spiritual growth. We are engaging with the community through our MLK service day, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat musical, the Living Nativity, and #blessthebusiness gatherings in local restaurants. We are also engaged in significant ways around the world. We added a faith community nurse to add health and wellness ministries. We were able to give away $365,436.20 to local and global mission projects. We are seeing our youth ministry serve in important roles in our congregation and continuing their strong history of service projects and mission trips. Our children’s ministry has begun a retooling process for even greater vitality. And, we added a family ministry team.
We are committed to being a place where life is better as we enrich the lives of all who connect with Christ through us. We need each and every one of you who call Messiah Church home to commit to the vision before us.
Will you join us in 2018?
