Cleaning Kit Bucket Packing

Join us on Sunday, November 6 between worship services (9:30-10:30 am) to pack 50 “cleaning kit” buckets for Hurricane Ian disaster relief in Florida. We’ll supply the kit contents – you supply the hands and hearts to assemble them! UMCOR collects these cleaning kits for distribution within the United States. Kits help sustain everyday life for people who lack access to essential supplies when a disaster strikes. If you cannot attend this event, you can make a cleaning kit bucket at home and return to Messiah by Sunday, November 6. If you would like to donate supplies, we welcome: liquid laundry detergent (32-64 oz), dish soap (16-34 oz), and liquid household cleaner (16-40 oz); gently used rakes, shovels, brooms, non-electric tools, and blankets; and working electric sewing machines. Donations will be collected through Sunday, November 6 and can be dropped off at Messiah on Sundays or during church office hours (Monday-Thursday 9 am-5 pm and Friday 9 am-12 pm). The supplies we collect will be delivered to the Midwest Mission Distribution Center, an UMCOR-related depot, in Chatham, Illinois.
