June Parking Lot Drive Thru

We may not be together on Sundays, but Messiah has not forgotten you! Rain or shine, you are invited to drive through the parking lot of Messiah Church and receive a pre-packaged communion kit (juice & a wafer), to save in preparation for virtual communion on Sunday, June 7. We’ll also have a special treat for the kids!

During our drive thru, we will be collecting food for our “Totes for Hope” Bloom Food Shelf that you can drop off from the safety of your car. Any donation is appreciated, although not required. Their most needed items include:

• Canned chicken
• Canned tuna
• Taco fixings (soft tortillas, taco seasoning, etc.)
• Salsa (mostly mild, but some medium)
• Canned diced tomatoes
• Pasta and sauce
  
• Baking items (flour, sugar, etc.)
• Vegetable oil
• Ketchup, mustard, mayo, and BBQ sauce
• Spices
• Pancake mix
• Syrup
• Salad dressing
• Baked Beans
• Minute rice or bags of rice
• Cereal
• Cleaning supplies (hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, and disinfectant)
• Paper towels
• Toilet paper
• Gift cards for $5 or $10 to Target, Cub, Aldi or Holiday

We will also be collecting items for Iglesia Piedra Viva (a small Spanish-speaking United Methodist Church serving families in South Minneapolis) during our drive thru. Any donation is appreciated, although not required. Their most needed items include:

• Diapers
• Baby wipes
• Formula
• Baby food
• Dish soap
• Peanut butter
• Rice
• Salt
• Sugar
• Vegetable oil
• Bags of black beans and pinto beans
• Spaghetti sauce
• Noodles
• Cash or check donations made out to Messiah Church (indicate IPV in the memo line)

There is no need to get out of your car! In order to keep everyone safe, all servants will be wearing a face mask, gloves and observing the 6 foot rule of physical distancing. Please bring any donations in paper bags or boxes so that our servants can safely collect them.
