Join us this Sunday, November 7, BETWEEN worship services (9:30-10:30 am) for Sunday Funday! In Heritage Hall we’ll be serving up pie (as well as our usual hot coffee), assembling care kits for the homeless*, and decorating paper feathers to “dress” our church-wide gratitude turkey (write down what you are thankful for, add some creative details, and together we’ll make a turkey masterpiece reflecting Messiah’s gratitude). Come early (if you normally attend 10:30 worship), or stay later (if you normally attend 8:30 worship). There’s something fun for all ages!
Look for more Sunday Funday events the first Sunday of each month. We’ll take advantage of the time between worship services to enjoy special treats, engage in service projects, connect with Prayer Partners or friends who attend the other service, get creative with craft projects, and just take extra time to mingle! Now that’s a fun Sunday!
* Care kits for the homeless contain water, snacks, and other basic essentials intended for the Messiah community to take and keep in their car. These kits can be given out when you encounter a person on the street, near a highway exit, or in area parking lots asking for assistance. You have the personal option to purchase a gift card to add to each care kit – $5 to McDonald’s, Holiday, Cub, etc. A large number of area homeless are known to stay in motels near the intersection of highways 55 and 494.
