Matthew, The Tax Collector

As we conclude this series, we turn to Matthew — the tax collector whom Jesus boldly called to “follow me.” Despite his past and the judgments of others, Jesus saw Matthew’s worth and invited him into a new life. Matthew’s story reminds us that no matter where we’ve been or what we’ve done, Jesus calls each of us by name and loves us unconditionally. Like Matthew, we are invited to leave behind old burdens and step into the grace and purpose Jesus offers.
