Choosing the Better Part: Seeing Mary and Martha Again

Mary and Martha are often portrayed as opposites — the busy worker and the faithful listener. In other words, be more like Mary and less like Martha. But this story is about much more than balancing work and rest. Mary and Martha's story invites us to look again, not simply at what these women were doing, but at what Jesus was inviting them (and us) to become.
